Since its launch in 2017, Navigator’s Live HD Traffic feature has been a game-changer for drivers seeking real-time traffic updates. Originally available for Android in April 2017 and iOS in November 2019, the feature has now rapidly expanded its global reach.
Real-time traffic avoids troubles on the route
Live HD traffic feature of MapFactor Navigator, otherwise a fully offline GPS navigation app, offers real-time traffic information that is displayed on the map and used for route calculation and its optimisation.
In February 2021, Navigator added over 35 new territories across Europe, Africa, and America, bringing the total to 60 territories. Countries like Bulgaria, Greece, Mexico, and Egypt were among the latest additions.
But the expansion didn’t stop there. As of April 2021, Navigator has introduced HD Traffic coverage to 5 new world regions. This brings the total coverage to almost 90 territories globally, ensuring that more drivers than ever before can stay informed with real-time traffic data, sourced from TomTom.
The 5 new regions include:
- Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay)
- South Asia (Brunei Darussalam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
- Oceania (Australia, New Zealand)
- North & East Asia (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, Macao Special Administrative Region of China, Taiwan (Republic of China))
- Middle East (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates)
With this update, drivers can enjoy both enhanced privacy and superior real-time traffic information, allowing for optimised routes and a smoother driving experience.
Unlike many other navigation apps, Navigator prioritises user privacy, ensuring that no user location data is gathered or stored. Traffic data are sourced from TomTom and that is why this feature is a paid, though price cost-effective add-on.
