The Live HD Traffic feature connects Navigator, the otherwise fully offline navigation app, to the online world keeping the drivers updated with the current situation on their route.
Real-time traffic information has been available in MapFactor Navigator since April 2017 (Android) and November 2019 (iOS). But the number of countries covered has now been increased.
Real-time traffic avoids troubles on the route
Live HD traffic feature of MapFactor Navigator offers real-time traffic information that is displayed on the map and used for route calculation and its optimisation.
First major update of Live HD Traffic coverage came in February 2021 with more than 35 new territories all over the world – 29 new territories in Europe, 6 in Africa and 3 in America. For example: Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Baltic countries, Mexiko, Egypt, Marocco and many others.
Now in April 2021, further 5 new world regions and many new countries with real-time traffic coverage have been added. This means that drivers in nearly 90 territories across the globe can now effortlessly steer clear of traffic jams and road blockages.
The 5 new regions include:
- Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay)
- South Asia (Brunei Darussalam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
- Oceania (Australia, New Zealand)
- North & East Asia (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, Macao Special Administrative Region of China, Taiwan (Republic of China))
- Middle East (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates)
Note: Navigator itself does not gather or store any user location data unlike most other navigation apps, offering its customers greater privacy. Live traffic data is sourced from TomTom. For this reason, this feature is a paid add-on.
